THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS ON ADVANCED MATERIALS

5 - 7 November 2018

As conference chair, and on behalf of my fellow organising committee, I welcome the world’s young advanced materials researchers to ICYRAM2018.  This conference aims to give all the researchers from around the world the opportunity to engage and network with peers, industry and friends, in the field of advanced materials.  Specifically ICYRAM2018 gives a platform for researchers unto 15 years post-PhD to present their R&D.  From the 5th to 7th of November 2018, Adelaide in South Australia will be the global focus for the scientific presentations, conversations, and chance meetings that will set forth the future discoveries and innovations that will drive society.  The organising committee is committed to delivering a positive experience for all delegates, irrespective of background or gender, in a forum that promotes diversity and minimises its impact on the environment.  The organising committee and I, the city of Adelaide, and Australia as a whole welcome you to ICYRAM2018.  We look forward to hosting your visit

Associate Professor Drew Evans, Conference Chair ICYRAM2018

#ICYRAM2018 MISSION

In 2012 the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS) launched the Global Materials Network (GMN). As an inaugural meeting of the GMN, IUMRS created a new conference designed specifically with young researchers in mind, the International Conference of Young Researchers on Advanced Materials (ICYRAM).  The mission of ICYRAM is to provide a platform for researchers upto 15 years post-PhD to present technical findings of their research, to network within the international community of other young researchers, and to increase the breadth of their general materials-based knowledge.  ICYRAM2018, the 4th edition of ICYRAM, will build on the original mission by providing a fair and equitable event for all young researcher’s to meet, discuss and network in a safe and welcoming environment.  Whether they be specialized materials researchers or those who utilise and apply materials to their R&D – ICYRAM2018 welcomes all.

Emerging Researchers Mobility Grant Application for the

International Conference for Young Researchers on Advanced Materials 2018

A Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia)

Are you an early- and mid-career researcher working in material science? Are you interested in events in the field of advanced materials that offer valuable engagement opportunities with peers and industry?

The Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia) through the Australian Academy of Science is offering a number of Emerging Researchers Mobility Grants to support a diversity of early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) to attend International Conference for Young Researchers on Advanced Materials (ICYRAM) in Adelaide.

The Mobility Grants are designed to offset the expenses associated with attending ICYRAM 2018 for those EMCRs who may not be able to attend this event without support and/or people from traditionally underrepresented demographics.

ICYRAM will run from 5- 7 November 2018 at the Adelaide Convention Centre and is targeted for EMCRs working in materials science, engineering, and related disciplines. The conference aims to give all the researchers from around the world the opportunity to engage and network with peers and industry in the field of advanced materials.

Visit the Emerging Researchers Mobility Grant page for more information about this opportunity.

Applications close on Monday 18 June at 5pm (AEST).

If you have any questions about the grants please contact us at emcr@science.org.au
